Maxis recently engaged Nokia as a key partner to construct part of its 5G Core ecosystem to satisfy future connectivity needs.

Maxis, a Malaysian carrier, and Nokia have entered into a partnership to strengthen their collaboration and focus on next-generation connectivity.

Maxis will collaborate with Nokia to investigate the use of newer technologies to better fortify Maxis’ networks, thereby improving security and reliability. This includes quantum-safe optical networking, which defends against attacks from both classical and quantum computers.

Furthermore, both firms will investigate innovations for supporting fast and scalable communication across cloud environments to improve network security.

Maxis recently enlisted Nokia as a key partner to help create a portion of its 5G Core ecosystem to satisfy future connectivity demands. This includes using cloud-native solutions that will allow Maxis to fully use 5G capabilities.

“We look forward to working more closely together to innovate throughout our network ecosystem and 5G products. This will ensure that we are future-ready to fulfill our customers’ ever-increasing demand for fast, secure, and reliable connectivity,” said Maxis CEO Goh Seow Eng.

Maxis recently announced that it had successfully shown what it claims to be the first 5G-Advanced technology trial in Malaysia and Southeast Asia in collaboration with Chinese vendor Huawei.

Eurofiber to integrate its private LTE (4G) and 5G macro solutions into the Dutch company’s

Nokia has signed an agreement with enterprise infrastructure provider Eurofiber to integrate its private LTE (4G) and 5G macro solutions into the Dutch company’s “open digital infrastructure” offering, which includes its own proprietary fiber optic network across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. Eurofiber is targeting organizations that prioritize “security and seamless, reliable wireless data availability,” according to the company.

According to the statement, “[The private 4G/5G network] operates via a private link that utilizes the existing fiber network, reducing the need for significant IT integration at the client location. Instead, this is handled by the Eurofiber network, which is well supported by Nokia Modular Private Wireless (MPW) and radio access solutions. “The new service allows businesses and institutions to improve their efficiency even more.”

It continued: “The new mobile network service, like Eurofiber’s present fixed network services, requires constant availability and adheres to the strictest security standards. Eurofiber’s open digital infrastructure is built in partnership with strategic partners, and MPN is no exception: engaging with operators, resellers, and/or working directly with end users will remain critical.”

Eurofiber’s new private 5G service is planned to be operational in the Netherlands by mid-2024. Nokia and Eurofiber have already been working together to upgrade and expand Eurofiber’s fiber networks in France and Belgium, they added. “[Private cellular] fully integrates with the solutions that Eurofiber now provides via its fixed fiber optic network. As a result, implementation and market introduction can begin rather fast, according to the statement.

Stephan Litjens, Nokia’s vice president of enterprise campus edge solutions, noted, “The necessity of powerful private networks in supporting operational and business infrastructure cannot be overstated. Our relationship with Eurofiber will improve private network offerings in the region, strengthen current infrastructure, and facilitate future digitalization. Eurofiber [will] continue to reduce the complexity in present private

Paul Naastepad, managing director of Eurofiber in the Netherlands, stated, “Eurofiber embraces a vision of success through close collaboration.” I’m thrilled to collaborate with Nokia. This enables us to provide a considerable extension of our fiber and cloud connectivity to business customers who handle mission-critical traffic. Private networks provide an extra alternative for increased flexibility and security when transmitting data within the firm, as well as seamless communication to the outside world or the cloud.”
